RR007B: Around South Thailand and Gulf of Siam

Travel deep down from Bangkok along the long and narrow peninsula of southern Thailand which offering a great diversities of nature and culture. Enjoy spectacular sceneries of thick jungles, rugged mountains, limestone pinnacles, emerald blue sea and fishermen villages. Discover the beauty of national parks, graceful temples, coral reefs and colorful marine life and some of the most spectacular beaches of Southeast Asia along the coastline of the Gulf of Siam. The trip ends in Samui.

Remark: This tour is operated only during summer season, namely fromMay  through October due to weather conditions. Recommended to bring along light luggage, own snorkel equipment, shorts, slippers, sun glasses and sun protection cream. Boat transports are on joining basis, even for a private tour.

DAY 1: BANGKOK–FLOATING MARKET–PETCHABURI–CHA AM   
Pick up from hotel in Bangkok. Early morning drive to Ratchaburi province in the Southwest of Bangkok. Visit the famous Damnoen Saduak floating market where farmers and merchants load their goods on small “Sampan” boats to meet and trade. Further to Petchaburi situated on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand, 160 kilometers south of Bangkok. It was an important royal fort town in the west during Sukhothai and Ayutthaya period. Visit Phra Nakhon Khiri historical park or locally known as “Khao Wang”, located up on a 92-meter high verdant hill. The compound was a summer residence of King Rama IV in 1860, hence comprised of royal halls, palaces, temples and other buildings which were elegantly constructed in a well-balanced Thai, neoclassical Western and Chinese architectural styles. Then proceed to the nearby Khao Luang Cave which is important to the province since it houses a Buddha image cast under the royal command of King Rama V as a dedication to King Rama III and King Rama IV. Continue to Cha-Am, a popular lively beach resort town which was once a peaceful fishing village. In the evening drive to visit the colorful night market in Hua Hin. Overnight at hotel in Cha Am.

DAY 2: CHA AM – HUA HIN – KHAO SAM ROI YOD – CHUMPHON  (B/-/-)
After breakfast drive 20 kilometers to Hua Hin, literally means stone head in Thai. It is Thailand's oldest beach resort and popular among Thais and foreign visitors for clean white sandy beaches with crystal clear water, tranquil atmosphere, golf, spa and seafood.  After a short stroll along Hua Hin beach, depart for Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. Located 63 kilometers south of Hua Hin, this coastal national park covers an area of 98 square kilometers with limestone mountains, mangrove swamps, and beaches. It is also home to various kinds of local and migrating birds, which are plentiful from November to February. Take a boat ride to Laem Sala Beach and walk up a beachside mountain to see the famous “Tham Phraya Nakhon" cave. The  main attraction in the cave is a Thai style pavilion constructed in 1890 during the reign of King Rama V.  Continue to Chumphon, a gateway province to the South of Thailand with 200 kilometers long beautiful and quiet seashore.  Overnight at hotel in Chumphon.

DAY 3: CHUMPHON - KOH TAO (B/-/-)

After breakfast transfer to boat pier. Board speed boat to Koh Tao, a small isolated island about one hour away. The island is famous for its rich sea coral reefs and inhabitants and secluded beaches set in a laid-back atmosphere, hence deal for snorkeling and diving.  With exceptional underwater visibility, Ko Tao is one of Thailand's finest offshore diving spots with main attractions such as White Rock, Shark Island, Chumphon Pinnacle, Green Rock, Sail Rock and Southwest Pinnacles. Guests enjoy snorkeling, swimming and sunbathing on the island. Overnight at hotel on Koh Tao.

DAY 4: KOH TAO - KOH PHA NGAN (B/-/-)

After breakfast transfer by boat to Ko Pha Ngan, the sister island of Ko Samui. The island is famous for its beach party on full moon night at Hat Rin as well as its unspoiled tranquil beaches.  Covering an area of 191 square kilometers, Ko Pha-ngan is located 20 kilometers directly north of Ko Samui.  The best time to visit Ko Pha-ngan is from February to September. Enjoy an around island tour by local van (pick-up) to explore its interesting attractions  such as Had Rin beach, a hilltop temple called Wat Khao Tham which is ideal for meditation, Than Sadet Waterfall and a Chinese temple. Overnight at hotel on Pha Ngan island.

DAY 5: KOH PHA NGAN - KOH SAMUI (B/-/-)

After breakfast transfer to a boat pier to board a ferry to Ko Samui. Known as the Coconut Island, Ko Samui is one of the most famous and popular attractions of Thailand. With an area of 247 square kilometers, Ko Samui is the third largest island of Thailand after Phuket and Ko Chang. Arrive Ko Samui and enjoy an around island tour to explore its natural and cultural attractions including the medium-size Na Muang Waterfall, Hin Ta-Hin Yai strange rock formations at Lamai Bay,  Big Buddha Temple and  a butterfly farm. Late afternoon transfer to Samui airport or hotel for extension stay.
