The tour program focuses on the Lower Isaan (Northeastern Thailand), featuring the ancient cultural heritage which dated back to the Angkor period and the world renowned natural heritage of Isaan. A special event will be the Khao Yai National Park, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005, with its unique and extensive flora and fauna and the waterfalls. Likewise, you will be the Historical Park Phimai with its temple, which was built in the 12th century and is now considered as a World Heritage Site, delight.

Day 1 : BANGKOK - NAKHON RATCHASIMA (KORAT) - BAN PRASAT - PHIMAI HISTORICAL PARK - SAI NGAM (- / L)
Morning, depart the hotel in Bangkok and drive to Nakhon Ratchasima or Korat, the gateway to other provinces in the Northeast. On the way, stop for Ban Klang Dong market to explore and taste various kinds of local fruits, especially the famous custard apples. Continue to Ban Prasat Archeological Site. According to archaeological finds, it isassumed that the area had been inhabited since the pre-istoric period through the historical periods, with evidence of the Dvaravati and Ancient Khmer cultures dating back some 1500-3000 years. Visit the excavation pits demonstrating skeletons and burial attributes. Experience the local way of life at Ban Prasat village. See rice farming, silkworm breeding, silk weaving, handicrafts including weaving reed mats and stringed musical instruments like So U and So Duang. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon, drive to Phimai Historical Park to see one of the grandest and most important Khmer historical sites in Thailand that is the Phimai Sanctuary. From stone inscriptions and the style of architecture, Phimai sancatuary was most likely built at the end of the 16th century in Baphuan style during the reign of King Suriyqworaman I. Some characteristics are similar to the Angkor Wat style. Then, proceed to visit Sai Ngam, located on the bank of Mun River. The park is named because of the abundance of the 350 years old Banyan trees. Check in at the Dusit Princess Hotel Korat, a first class hotel with Green Leaf Certification. Day 2 : KORAT MARKET - PETRIFIED WOOD MUSEUM - WAT KHAO CHAN NGAM - PAK CHONG - KHAO YAI NATIONAL PARK (B / L)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we visit Korat morning market to see the way of life. Of the people. Then, proceed to the Northeastern Museum of Petrified Wood and Mineral Resources, the first museum of its kind in Thailand and one out of seven in the world. It exhibits a collection of large pieces of petrified wood of approximately 800,000-320 million years old, video presentation on the origin of the Earth and Evolution of Life, and petrified wood garden that imitates the topography of the Mun-Chi basins. There are also a museum of 8 out of 42 genera of primitive elephants found around the world which include Gomphothere, Deinothere, and Shovel-tusked Gomphothere as well as fossils of various animals like giant turtle, pharial, and ape. Continue to Macchada Thai silk factory at Pak Tong Chai which is a very famous district for good quality hand woven Thai silk. You can see all the processes of making Thai silk here. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon, continue to Pak Chong. On the way, visit the temple Wat Khao Chan Ngam which houses prehistoric rock paintings. Walk through a natural rock garden and shady forest for some 150 m. to see the paintings which appear in a row of red silhouettes on a sandstone shelter. There are figures of humans and animals that reflect the way of life and people’s activities i.e. how they were clad, lived or hunted. It is assumed that the paintings were created by an agricultural community who inhabited this area some 3000-4000 years ago. Arrive at the Greenery Resort, nearby Khao Yai National Park. Overnight at the Greenery Resort.
Day 3 : KHAO YAI NATIONAL PARK - BANGKOK (B / L)
After breakfast, proceed to Khao Yai National Park, Thailand’s first national park and UNESCO’s World Heritage since 2005. It was also listed among the ASEAN Heritage Parks and is the origin of a number of major streams and rivers. There are many kinds of forests within the park, comprising mixed deciduous forest, dry evere green forest, moist forest and savannah. The forests provide a natural habitat for a large number of wild animals. The most frequently seen animals are common barking deer, deer, elephants, tigers, gaurs, serows, bears, porcupines, gibbons, giant squirrels, yellow-throated martens, Indian civets, palm civet and Siamese hares. 315 species of beautiful birds and more than 216 kinds of butterflies are also reported. Trekking along the nature trail from Pa Kluay Mai Waterfalls where visitors can find the Red Dendrobium orchid, the symbol of the waterfall, to the famous Heaw Suwat Waterfall. Enjoy exploring flora and fanua during a 3 kilometres’ walk with the national park ranger. After lunch at a park restaurant, continue by car to visit Haew Narok Waterfall, the largest and highest waterfall of the park. The waterfall has 3 levels with total drop of at least 150 meters. Walk about one kilometer from the main road to reach the viewpoint where the beautiful waterfall can be seen. Return to Bangkok and transfer to the hotel.
